TIG Legal & Compliance & Responsibility

At TIG, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of legal compliance, ethical conduct, and corporate responsibility across every project we undertake. From adherence to provincial and federal regulations to environmental stewardship and community accountability, we are committed to operating with integrity in everything we do. Our team works closely with legal, regulatory, and industry bodies to ensure that our operations not only meet but exceed the standards required of us — protecting our workers, our clients, and the communities where we build.

Statutory and Legal Compliance:

The TIG Group and its divisions comply with the following statutory requirements in our day-to-day operations.

UIF — Registered and compliant with the Unemployment Insurance Fund

COID — Compliant with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act

SARS — Fully compliant with South African Revenue Service requirements

OHS Act — Adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act across all sites

MHS Act — Compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act when operating in mining environments

As a pre-emptive measure in servicing our mining clients as quickly as possible, most of our plant is mine-ready and can be deployed when required. Our operators and other personnel are competent and medically fit, ensuring a safe, compliant, day-to-day operation.

Social Responsibility:

Part of our business model is the upliftment and investment in local communities and previously disadvantaged contractors. TIG believes in the development of individuals who participate in the construction industry but do not necessarily have the financial capability to do so.

Partnering with upcoming entities ensures that the future of the industry remains competitive and continues to grow steadily.

We acknowledge our responsibility in participating in community projects and understand our role in developing public spaces. Our latest initiative was assisting a religious organization in Bloemhof that lies at the centre of the community.

As a B-BBEE Level 2 company, we seek out partnerships that share our vision.

Environmental Friendly:

Taking cognisance of our impact on the environment is part of the TIG Group's effort to ensure environmental compliance in all operational areas.

Recycling in our plant division, rehabilitation in our material sourcing operations, and the sourcing of environmentally friendly products ensure that our footprint on the environment is kept to a minimum.

Creating partnerships with companies that share our work ethics assists in creating an industry standard to which affiliates must comply, ultimately broadening industry conscientiousness and environmental sensitivity.

Health & Safety:

The TIG Group and its divisions are committed to providing a safe work environment for all employees. Regular training and risk assessments ensure that work is completed without incident.

Operators and foremen are sensitive to their work within communities and understand the risks associated with the industry.

Plant inspections, regular service intervals, and pre-emptive planning ensure a constant workflow without compromising legal requirements.

We pride ourselves on our safety culture and believe in assessment, change management, and implementing risk reduction strategies.
